The Sig P320 (POSTED EARLY AND UNCOMPLETE FOR ETHAN)

So lets talk about my favorite pistol, The Sg Sauer P320.

so pic of my sig

The P320 is a Striker fired semi automatic Pistol. It was first introduced in 2014 as a 9mm only. Since then the P320 is now offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig and .45 ACP. The P320 was inspired by the Sig P250, very similar pistol that was Hammer fired with a double action only trigger. The P250 was made from 2007-2017.

So what makes the sig P320 different then any other pistol. there are dozens of metal slide/plymer frame pistols on the market. well, the P320 was one of the first pistols to use the modular chassis system. What the fuck is that? Take a look at this picture below.

pic of the fcu

This is call the p320 Fire Control Unit (FCU) this is the serialized part of the firearm. what this means is the part that is considered the gun. Here's the really cool part, not only can you swap slides but you can swap grips as well. meaning you can go from a full size gun to sub compact in less then 60 seconds.

The P320 is a super fucking Rad gun. Now lets break down some of the differences between the models. I love Sig, but fuck they make these things confusing. There are lots of different variants and sizes, and its kind of confusing on what they are.

This chart below shows the differences in the sizes of the line of P320

some key differences in grips other then size.

The TXG grip. this is the standard grip on the X5 legion and the X5 Max. These are Tungsten infused grips. These are the heaviest grips you can get for the P320.

The AXG grip. This grip its roughly the same size as the full size grips. These grips are made of aluminum and have removable grip panels. These are to resemble P226 grips.

There are also tons of after market grips, do your own fucking research on them. But here are a few to look up.

Wilson Combat (my favorite)

Polymer 80

Incarus Ace grip

Lets talk a little bit about slides. boy the slides get fucking confusing. And it mainly about the slide cut. From 2014 to 2019 the P320 was cut to fit the Romeo 1.

But first, why the change. Why did sig decide to chance the specs of the P320, well its because of the m17/m18. when Sig was trying to win the US Army contract they changed from the Romeo 1 footprint to the Leupold Delta Point Pro footprint. This is due to The military picking the DDP as their primary optic. This gave Sig the edge over lots of the competition, its came down to the Glock 19X and ths sig. Glock will say they lost because they refused to add a manual safety to the 19X, the Army will say Glock lost because Sig came in 103 million dollars cheaper.

now lets get something straight. The Romeo 1 and the Romeo 1 Pro are not the same. They look the same, they are roughly the same size but the footprint is completely different.

when i say footprint i mean the shape of the bottom of the optic. So anything after mid 2019 is the romeo 1 Pro/DDP

The easiest way to tell if you slide is by looking at the shape of the front part of the slide cut out. I've posted a picture of the part I'm talking about below.

This same mid 2019 design change also effects the barrels on the X models. This part gets fucky, Due to the designed change the Breech Block hood Also changed. I'll show a picture that points to that part.

So any sig that have the X-carry stamped on the slide that was made before mid 2019 is going to have a wider breach block. which is the same size on the current standard P320

AR-15 Stuuuuuff.

This is not going to be an article. I honestly just made this so i can go back to it as a reference  and show it to others. There are hundreds of articles that   explain  all this shit.    AR gas systems.  Pistol Length  Barrels less than 9”  Gas tube length 4.5”  Carbine length  Barrels 10-18”  Gas tube length 7.5”  Mid-Length  Barrels 14-20”  Gas tube length 9.5”  Rifle length  Barrels 20”+  Gas tube length 13”  Carbine Length vs Mid Length Gas system. What is the point? AR's with barrels between 14-18 inches can use either, which is better? The short answer is Mid Length The longer gas system is going to provide less pressure going back to the bolt, less pressure is better for longevity and will reduce felt recoil. Mid length gas systems will have a slower rate of fire. measured on a 14.5 barrel using NATO M855 Carbine = 864 rpm Mid = 737 rpm. For more info this report from NAVSEA has a ton of info, even on shit that will never effect you. https://partner-mco-archive.s3.amazonaw

Are Revolvers Still Practical for Concealed Carry?

Are Revolvers still practical for concealed carry? Short answer is no. Let me explain why.  get ready for some massive shit talking. Oh, and I got sources at the bottom for all you nay-sayers Revolvers are cool guns, they are fun to shoot and they can be used to defend your life. And if my only option was a revolver I would carry it. Any gun is better then no gun. But…….. So this is the real world, we’re not in some video game or movie where you start off with a wheel gun and are forced to use it. When you decide to carry a CCW you 99% of the time go to a store and pick out a gun. This means you have options and you are the one responsible for your decision. The only exception to this is if you got a hand me down revolver from a family member and cannot afford to buy something new. But this is not as common as you would think.  Revolvers are as practical as the 1920 Ford Model T car. The Model T has a top speed of 45 miles per hour and miles per gallon was about 16-20. The Model T is

Is The Metric System The Best For Defense?

Best caliber for Concealed Carry.  What is the best caliber to carry for personal defense?  This is a question that has no correct answer. But there are wrong answers.  Once again, this is my opinion. And any gun is better than no gun.  The logic I am applying to this is if you have to pick 1 gun for an all around defense round. Obviously you don’t need a huge caliber if you are being charged by a coyote, or a super small caliber for a bear. Every caliber has a role, I’m helping you decide what the best all around and most practical caliber is.  I’m going to be comparing calibers that are most common for CCW pistols. If you carry a 44mag, 50 AE, 7.62x25….what the fuck is wrong with you??? Your choices are dumb.  Let's talk about Energy, joules, ft/lbs. This is arguably the most important  You can skip some calibers if you don't care. You can also skip to the bottom to see my final thoughts if you don't want the specs to all the info. We are going to be using Speer ammo fo
